NYPD arrests pro-Palestine protesters at Columbia
The NYPD broke up an encampment established by pro-Palestinian protesters on the campus of Columbia University and arrested protesters who had vowed not to move until Columbia divests from companies supporting Israel. Protesting students - including the daughter of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) - were suspended.
The police took action upon the request of Columbia University President Nemat Shafik who wrote “The current encampment violates all of the new policies, severely disrupts campus life, and creates a harassing and intimidating environment for many of our students”.
NYPD officers - many in riot gear - stormed the campus and surrounded the lawn. Ironically, such police action clearly disrupts campus life and creates a harassing and intimidating environment for many students - the very things that Columbia’s President claims to oppose.
In a further twist, Columbia’s Provost suspended President Nemat Shafik for failing to act sooner. Provost Angela Olinto who released a statement which said:
“I’d like to thank President Shafik for taking action to stop the harassment of Columbia students. However, she was slow to act. It’s not official policy but Columbia allows the intimidation and harassment of certain students (i.e. pro-Palestinians protestors) but does not permit the intimidation or harassment of other students (i.e. those who object to pro-Palestinian protestors).
Since President Shafik is Egyptian-American we have reason to believe she may have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore she is hereby suspended until she can prove to Columbia that she is not part of the Muslim Brotherhood and is not a secret Hamas agent”
U.S. vetoes Palestinian bid for statehood in UN vote
Yesterday the United States blocked a UN Security Council vote that would have created a Palestinian state. The U.S. was the only country - out of 15 on the Security Council - to vote against the resolution.
After the vote the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations explained the decision to veto.
“We are all for officailly recognizing a Palestinian state once the Palestinians can credibly demonstrate that they have a state. As the United States, our country is best positioned to recognized another state. And right now Palestine does not meet the criteria to be recognized as a state.
They don’t have a fentanyl crisis like California or a mass shooting epidemic like Texas. They don’t let white collar crime go unpunished like New York. And they don’t let former leaders attempt coups without consequences. These are all hallmarks of well governed, fully functioning states. Heck, the Palestinians have paid time off and paid parental leave. No state in our union offers such things - therefore how can Palestine be considered a state?
The United States stands ready to assist the Palestinian people in their bid for statehood. Once they decide maternity leave is anti-business, healthcare is a privilege and college education is only for the rich we will be happy to recognize them as a state”
Interview: Prince Harry
FB: What led you to change your primary residence from the UK to the U.S.?
PH: There were a couple of drivers. Firstly, I now live in the U.S., so it makes sense to make it official. Secondly, there are fewer media outlets in the UK to publish my complaints. It’s really unfair. I’m a prince. I should be able to get media coverage whenever I want. Kim Jong Un gets all the coverage he wants. Heck, Donald Trump has Truth Social for Christ’s sake.
But when poor little Harry tries to voice his legitimate complaints through the British media, they refuse to publish. So I figured to make it official with America, land of the free, home of the brave and inventor of first amendment.
FB: How will having your primary residence as the U.S. enable you to speak more freely?
PH: As a U.S. resident I can start my own Substack. This way people will get to know the real me and everything I’ve been through. Everything that Meghan has been through. And everything that our kids, dogs and chickens have been through.
Our critics claim that people were only interested in us as long as we could spill the tea about the inner workings of Buckingham Palace. But Meghan and I know that we have much more to offer.
FB: What topics will you speak about?
PH: Well for starters, I’m excited to demystify the U.S. immigration process now that I have a green card. I will offer all the details about how people who are trying to move to this country can legally migrate here.
FB: Isn’t that information already on the USCIS website?
PH: Yes but I can tell the story in a British accent. Hello - I’m a prince! My Substack will reveal my immigration story from filing paperwork to FBI background check, all for $7.99 each month.
FB: You’re expecting people to pay for information that’s already on the USCIS website?
PH: Well no. My Substack will cover a lot more than just that one topic. One of the biggest motivators for me to move to the U.S. was my pursuit of privacy for myself and my family.
So there will be privacy related content on my Substack too. I will share my tips and tricks for maintaining privacy in this digital world. For example, I can show you how to take screenshots of iMessage conversations with Beyonce without her knowledge.
FB: Can you tell us more about Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand?
PH: Yes, we’ve been working on this brand for months. We thought very carefully about the branding. We wanted to make sure our brand felt authentic, connected to who we are and wasn’t a mouthful. Hence: “American Riviera Orchard”. I had suggested “American Riviera Orchard that relies on trees imported from Britain” but Meghan thought it was too long sadly.
FB: And what about the brand’s first product: strawberry jam?
PH: Meghan and I are really passionate about uplifting people and making a real difference in their lives. We are all about service - after all, service is universal. You don’t need to be a working royal to live a life of service. And our way of serving humanity is by providing a rich and delicious strawberry jam.
In fact, we are sending some of this jam to Buckingham Palace. Meghan thinks that it can cure my father’s cancer - I think she might be right!
FB: Did Meghan send a jam jar to Kate Middleton to cure her cancer?
PH: She wants to but when she tried to text Kate to ask for her address she ran out of data. Really unfortunate timing. But once we our data renews next month we will for sure text Kate. Until then our thoughts and prayers are with her.
FB: This jam is to serve others - does that mean that you’ll be donating profits to a worthy cause?
PH: Kind of. We’ll keep the profits and then pay taxes on the profits. That way we get to pay for our security - which my father no longer pays for - and also lift up our fellow Americans by paying taxes. I’ve never paid taxes before - this is all very new to me!
FB: You talk about a life of service and wanting to lift up humanity but you’ve said nothing about the plight of Palestinians who are suffering a man-made famine and ongoing genocide.
PH: I am living a life of service and I do wish to lift up all of humanity. I know the Palestinians have a very raw deal. And my heart aches for them. But seriously, how many Palestinians spoke up for me when I was being persecuted by the UK media? When the Telegraph ethnically cleansed my story?
How many Palestinians spoke up for me Meghan when the Daily Mail accused her of creating an avocado shortage?
I know genocide must be hard. But try relocating to another continent without your father paying for your security. That was my own personal jihad.
But it’s not too late, the Palestinians can still earn my advocacy. All they have to do is give us a 5-star review for Meghan’s strawberry jam. If they say they like jam on toast more than hummus, I’ll ask my publicist if I can write a nice tweet about them.
